Hello. I’m Cheng Yap from Penang in Malaysia. In 2003, I met my future husband John whilst he was working as a teacher in Malaysia. I later joined him in Berlin before we moved to Henley in Arden and later settling in Malvern Hills in 2016.
I missed Penang food so much and was forever on the phone to mum back in Penang for cooking help. Friends all said I should cook for a living. So, starting at Kiezküchen Berlin and then three years at University College Birmingham and experience at Ning Malaysian Restaurant in Manchester, I trained as a professional chef.
I believe outside catering offers the best way to serve true Malaysian Nyonya cuisine. Restaurants serve nice Asian food, but few can provide the freshly-prepared family recipes for the real Nyonya taste.
With experience of major events from weddings to small parties, we won’t impose menus on you and will visit beforehand with samples of our dishes to taste and discuss at leisure. Malaysian food is not very spicy, but we can adapt dishes to suit your tastes.
With a 5* hygiene rating, our menus detail any allergens, and no MSG is added. Relax and enjoy your event with great and authentic Malaysia Nyonya dishes.
